Common conditions treated:
- Arthritis of hand:
Most commonly affects base of the thumb and most common in women in their 50s.
Pain in knuckles and joints and reduction in amount of movement in joints, reduction in strength is some of the common signs of hand arthrithis.
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
On the sole palm side of the wrist there is a space like as tunnel which 16 tendons and 1 nerve passing inside it. For the people who use their hand too much, if the tendons get inflammation, they can push on the nerve as it is an enclosed area and cause pain, numbness or pins and needles in the hand specially thumb and first 3 fingers.
Our hand therapist with use of new technologies are able to help for the inflammation to reduce and by using hand splint specially at nights, can reduce the hand symptoms.
- Triger finger:
Triger finger is a condition which one or two fingers locks when you are trying to extend your finger from bending position. The release of the lock is usually with some force and can be associated with pain. The cause is due to inflammation of tendons of that finger. Out hand therapist are experienced in assessing the cause of the problem and with the best treatment reduce the inflammation and remove the cause of it permanently.
- De Quervain’s tenosynovitis
This condition can cause pain and tenderness over the thumb side of your wrist and can extend to the thumb it self. The pain can get aggravated by using thumb and hand. The main reason for this pain is tendinopathy (abnormality of tendons) which are responsible for moving of your thumb. Our therapist are able to find the cause of your problem and with the newest technology such as laser and shockwave therapy, treat the tendinopathy and with recommendation of the best thumb splint, be able to rest the area to be able to heal faster.
- Flexor and extensor tendon repairs
Tendon injury can occur when there is a cut to hand or back of the hand where tendons passing that straighten or bends fingers .
- Tennis elbow:
